Both sides had created a couple of decent chances before the Glens made the breakthrough on 35 minutes after Ally Park blasted an unstoppable shot from the edge of box beyond the reach of keeper Kieran Hughes. The home side came close to equalising before the break only for Glens’ goalie Brian McGarrity to be the match of midfielder Kieran Brannan’s shot from 25 yards out.

Ladeside enjoyed a good start to the second half with only a goal-line clearance preventing them drawing level and later another fine save from McGarrity. The visitors too had their moments with the crossbar preventing their lead from being doubled and then later Hughes pulling off a find save from substitute Darren McGill. The game remained finely balanced until the Glens claimed their place in the 3rd round after substitute Jamie Hay slotted home a spot-kick in time added-on.
