Glenafton made two changes to the eleven that started against Renfrew on Saturday with Callum Wilson and Hugh Kerr, both unavailable, making way for Paul Paton and Chris Erskine.

Jack MacCalman, long throw specialist, launched a ball from the left, deep into the Glens box where Ryan Wilson won the aerial battle only for his header to flash wide of the corner of post and cross bar. Soon after Wilson cut in from the left along the bye-line only for his low shot to be blocked by keeper Ollie Ecrepont at the base of the near post.
On 12 minutes a rare Glens break into the Buffs half was broken down and a slick counter-attack concluded with Wilson bursting into the left-hand side of the box and drawing Ecrepont to rush from his six-yard line, only for the young keeper to dive at his feet and smother the ball. The Buffs continued to press in numbers and Murray Mackintosh cut in from the right to push forward to the 18-yard line before cracking a low shot just wide of Craig McCracken and yet having seen the ball late Ecrepont dived to his right to push the wall wide of target.
On 16 minutes Kilwinning broke the deadlock. A long throw from MacCalman on the left, high and deep into the box, where a Danny McMichael header cannoned off McCracken’s chest initiating a stramash on the outskirts of the six-yard box saw Daniel O’Neill eventually get control of the ball within a huddle of players to angle a low shot towards the near post past three defenders only to take a deflection sending the ball beyond the reach of Ecrepont and into the net. Buffs 1 Glens 0, 16 minutes.
Back came Buffs with Bryan Boylan and Blair McIntyre deep in the box only for the shot by the latter to drift wide of the post under pressure from Lee Anderson.
Glens enjoyed the occasional the respite within the Buffs half, however without threatening their goal.
Meanwhile Kilwinning continued to spread the ball about at pace and doubled their lead on 21 minutes after play was switched from left to right where Harry Weir curled a cross through the gap between McDermott and David Craig for the incoming Wilson marked by Ollie Rowe, only for the ball to swerve past both players and into the net at the far post. Buffs 2 Glens 0, 21 minutes.
The visitors began to have some decent possession in the Buffs half. Michael Mullen with his back to goal on the 18 yard line held off the push in the back by Mackintosh and forced his way into the box before chipping a shot that dipped over the bar, albeit keeper Dylan Brown had it covered.
Play began to rage back and forth. At the other end MacCalman launched a throw from the left to a busy near post only for the leaping Ecrepont to clutch it cleanly.
Back came Glens with Chris Erskine being fouled, far from the first time, on the outskirts of the right hand side of the box. Leon Murphy clipped the free kick over the four-man wall and with the keeper rooted on the goal line it thundered off the top of the bar near the junction sending the ball high into the air before dipping out of play.
At the other end, Weir from deep in right hand side of the box held off the challenge of McDermott and with three defenders between him and the goal he curled a low shot into the net, past his team-mate McIntrye who had drifted into an offside position and blocked keeper Ecrepont.
Glens won a corner on the left which Mullen clipped high to the back post where Craig met it on the drop to hook it high and back into the goalmouth where Ricky Little got the jump on Boylan only for his downward header to drift inches wide of the post.

Soon after Lee Duncanson launched the ball from wide on right high into the goalmouth where the airborne Brown punched it out for a throw on the left as Little threatened at the back post.

Glens made a change at the break with Brannan McDermott making way for Sam McKee.
It had been an encouraging end to the first half for the visitors and the second half seemingly followed suit after McKee broke into the left-hand side of the box before squaring the ball to Mullen only to fire the ball high over the bar under pressure from MacCalman.
However, the Buffs responded with three goals in a fifteen minute spell beginning on 49 minutes after Robbie Scullion picked up the ball on the left side of the box before squaring it across the face of goal through the gap between the keeper on the near post and McCracken on the six-yard line for the incoming Bryan Boylan to get in front of Little and scramble the ball over the line. Buffs 3 Glens 0, 49 mins.
Soon after a ball played back to Ecrepont put him under pressure as Boylan and Wilson closed in only for the keeper’s attempted clearance to bounce off the latter and into the gaping net. Buffs 4 Glens 0, 56 minutes.
Some respite for the Glens as Erskine gathered the ball at the edge of the ‘D’ and gave Mackintosh the slip before drilling a low angled shot that keeper Brown got down well to push it wide for O’Neill to gather the loose ball.
Back up the park and the Buffs made it 5-0 after the impressive Weir threaded a ball into the right-hand side of the box for substitute Mark Lamont to chase down and crack an angled shot that although the advancing Ecrepont got a touch the ball bounced inside the near post. Buffs 5 Glens 0, 64 minutes.
Glens made a change with David Craig making way for Ross Lindsay.
The visitors remained hungry for more and Weir from the right-hand corner of the box thumped a shot that Ecrepont got down low to stop and McCracken mopped up the loose ball.
On 75 minutes Glens made a double substitution with Leon Murphy and Chris Erskine making Jamie Low and David Blyth.
Glens stoutly defended a couple of corner kicks while at the other end Blyth blasted a shot from 15 yards that the keeper did well to push over the bar with both hands.
Mullen’s corner from the right was met by McCracken only for his shot to be deflected over the bar.
