In order to qualify for the knock-out stage Glenafton required to beat Darvel by 5 goals and hope that Hurlford and Auchinleck draw at Beechwood Park with Talbot winning the penalty shoot-out for the bonus point !

Glens gave starts to summer signing midfielder Leon Murphy and to Darren McLean signed from BSC Glasgow , who had signed earlier in the day. It was Murphy the put the Glens ahead with a super goal on 17 minutes. Cammy Marlow doubled their lead seven minutes later before Darvel halved it seven minutes after that. On  37 minutes Chris Dallas restored the two goal lead. Kyle McAusland  made it 4-1 soon after the restart and substitutes Mick McCann and Joe Andrew each scored to deliver the needed 5 goal deficit in a 6-1 victory. Unfortunately although Talbot and Hurlford were all square for a time, Dwayne Hyslop scored the winner for the home side to put them through to the last 32.
