In an action packed game both sides created decent chances in the opening encounters the best of which fell to the home side including a Chris Dallas shot from inside the box that was brilliantly saved by the Craigmark keeper Matthew McClymont and later a Mick McCann header from a free kick crashed off the base of the post before Ryan Borris’s attempt to thunder home the rebound was cleared off the line. At the other end Brian McGarrity comfortably saved two shots from distance before a header at the back post sneaked wide of target with the keeper beaten.

Chris Dallas

There was an element of good fortune when the Glens opened the scoring on 29 minutes after Chris Dallas’s cross from tight on the right wing aimed for McCann at the back post sailed over the keeper’s head and into the net. No luck involved when Dallas doubled the Glens lead three minutes later the striker allowing a cross from Darren McGill on the left to bounce twice on the far side of the box before unleashing an unstoppable left-footed volley into the roof of the net. McClymont then pulled off a another super save after McCann’s turn and shot in the box.  H/T Glens 2 Craigmark 0

The Dalmellington side made a positive start to he second half and earned a free kick just outside the box and although it cannoned off the wall the chase to retrieve the ball ended with a trip in the box and spot-kick for Craigmark. Unfortunately Scott Dempster lost his footing and skewed his shot from 12 yards wide of the post. To rub salt in the wounds Chris Dallas completed his hat-trick with another wonder strike meeting a corner-kick full on the volley with his  right foot to send the ball screaming into the roof of the net.

Cameron Marlow

Substitute Cameron Marlow made in 4-0 after a powerful run through the middle before being dispossessed at the edge of the box only for McCann to recover the ball and roll it back to Marlow to clip it over the keeper’s head from the 18 yard line. Marlow then added a fifth after picking up a fine pass from Jamie McKernon on the outskirts of the box before chipping another ball from the 18 yard line that ended in the net via the underside of the crossbar. Credit to Craigmark they continued to look for a consolation and McGarrity was forced into a saving a close range header pulled off a brilliant save from a shot within the six yard box.

The home side made it 6-0 after good work down the left by McCann to pick out Dale Moore’s run into the box for the substitute to slip past two defenders and his shot deflect off the advancing keeper before finding the net despite a defender’s valiant attempt to clear it off the line.  In the closing minutes players from both sides lined up the box awaiting the delivery of David Gray’s free kick from the right only for the midfielder to play it back to McKernon who quickly passed to Kyle McAusland on the left hand corner of the penalty box where the defender took a touch or two before lashing a shot into the far corner of the net.
