Glenafton chances of qualifying for the knock-out stages of the competition disappeared after a disappointing performance against Cumnock Juniors in the local derby.

Calum McRobbie opened the scoring for the visitors in the first half and substitute double their lead after the break. The home side’s hopes of staging a comeback evaporated after being reduced to 9 men with Darren McGill and Davie Gray each picking up a brace of yellow cards.

Footnote: It was pleasing see former Glens keeper David Buchanan on the Cumnock bench and the club would like to wish him well at Townhead.
