Glenafton all but secured their passage to the knock-out with a hard fought victory over a determined Lugar side. Good build up play ended with a slice of good fortune to put the home side ahead in the first half. Robert Dunn switched the play from the left flank to the right with a cross field pass to Craig Menzies. The Glens captain quickly picked out Dan Orsi at the corner of the box before breaking deep into the box to complete the one-two but instead Orsi tried find Dunn at the back post only for his cross to catch everyone out and sail over the keeper’s head and into the net.

The home side doubled their lead in the second half after a Darren McGill free kick from 30 yards beat the wall and was pushed away by both hands of the keeper and as he raced to beat John Paul Boyle to gather the rebound he tripped the Glens striker in the box. Chris Malone stepped up and slotted home the spot kick for his third goal of the season.
