GLENAFTON ATHLETIC U19s 3 (1)
With the Scottish Junior Cup just 8 days off the Glens took the on the U19 at Loch Park. Aaron Connolly , Alain Kinney and Cameron Marlow all turned out for the U19s, while young Ryan Campbell lined up for the Glens.
In a highly entertaining match the U19 took an early lead through Alain Kinney who blasted the ball home with less than two minutes gone. The match was all square three minutes later after keeper Derek Rush made a fine save from a Jamie McGeoghegan shot only for the loose ball to be partially cleared to the edge of the box where Jamie McKernon duly dispatched into the net with a trademark thunderbolt.
On 8 minutes the Glens took the lead when Campbell laid the ball out to the right for the overlapping Craig McEwan who then drove into the box and fired a low angled shot beyond the keeper and into the net at the back post.
Both sides came close to adding to their tally with Kinney and Marlow both hitting the cross bar sandwiched between a great run into the box by McKernon skipping pass several defenders and rounding the goalie only for his shot from an acute angle finding the side net.

Glens were caught cold from the kick and with 20 seconds of the re-start the match was all square Connolly and Kinney combining to set up Cammy Marlow to jink into the box and clip the ball beyond the reach of Brian McGarrity.
On 55 minutes Stevie Miller picked out Jamie McKernon on the 18 yard line who gave a couple of defenders the slip before placing ball home from 8 yards out. Ten minutes later the U19s were back on level terms when the ‘old heads’ of Connolly and Marlow combined to release Alain Kinney who powered into the box before driving the ball low and hard from 12 yards out past the outstretched McGarrity.
The game appeared destined to end in stalemate only for Stevie Miller, with all but the last kick of the ball finally get the better of Rush, chipping the ball over the grounded keeper from 6 yards to completed the scoring. F/T Glens 4 Glens U19s 3
