The New Cumnock Liaison Group’s “Auld Kirk and Village Heritage Trail” project is making good progress. and a heritage trail of a number of information panels has now been established along the length of the Castle. ( See more about the project here .)

Project leader Bobby Guthrie explains ‘Glenafton, for many people,  hold a special place in our community’s past, present and of course our future. It is fitting that the club feature in our heritage trail and I would like to thank the club for giving their permission to place a panel at the entrance of Loch Park.”

The panel maps gives a brief overview of the birth of football in our parish with the formation of senior side Lanemark , through Glenafton’s early years at Connel Park and from there to their home here at Loch Park.
