Midfielders Jamie McKernon and Ryan Borris along with young keeper Scott Watson have left the club. All at Glenafton Athletic woud like to thank them and wish them all the best for the future.
Jamie McKernon
Jamie previously played with St. Mirren, Ayr United and East Stirlingshire before joining the Glens at the start of the 2013/14 season when the club reached the Scottish Junior Cup final. The following season he earned the man-of-the-match award in the Ayrshire Ardagh Cup Final win over Auchinleck Talbot. Jamie returned to the senior ranks with Queen’s Park before returning to Loch Park for second spell season. His 35 appearances took his Glens total to 102 and his over the three seasons he bagged 19 goals.
Ryan Borris
Ryan counts Dumbarton, Raith Rovers, Ayr United, Stirling Albion and Stranraer in his list of senior clubs. He joined the Junior ranks at Kilbirnie Ladeside before moving to Hurlford United and then making the move from Blair Park to Loch Park at the start of Glenafton’s treble winning season in 2016/17 – Scottish Junior Cup Winners, West Region Premier Division Champions and Evening Times Champions Cup. In his two seasons at the club Ryan has made over 60 appearances and scored 4 goals.
Scott Watson
Young keeper Scott had Junior experience with Beith Juniors and Dalry Thistle and during his two season has proved a committed stand-in to No.1 goalkeeper Brian McGarrity.
