Glenafton made one change to the starting eleven that had drawn with Irvine Meadow, with Jamie McKernon failing to recover from a bad challenge in that game and replaced by Darren McGill.

The visitors enjoyed the better of the play in the opening half and took a deserved lead after McGill’s glancing header from a corner kick crashed off the junction off the back-post and crossbar . The loose ball was quickly gathered by Alain Kinney and rolled back to Michael Wardrope at the corner of the 18 yard box and his chip into the danger deceived defender and keeper before the ball nestled in the net.

The keeper showed better form and outwitted the Glens attack coming out on top in a number of one-on-ones. The visitors paid dearly for the missed chances as Hurlord drew level a minute before the break after Paul McKenzie was dispossessed on the edge of the box but the ball fell kindly for Danny Mitchell to blast the ball home.

Hurlford edge head soon after the restart when McKenzie’s corner-kick was bulleted home by the head of Glen Mitchell from six yards out. The home side continued to press and another McKenzie corner was volleyed home by Chris Robertson to secure the points.
