West Region Stagecoach Premier Division : Match 13
Saturday 1st February 2014, Valefield Park, Kilbirnie
KILBIRNIE LADESIDE 2 (1)
GLENAFTON ATHLETIC 1 (0)
Former Glenafton forward John-Paul Boyle hit a first half double to put Kilbirnie two ahead at the break. On 13 minutes a long punt up field by keeper Daniel McLeay was headed on high into the box and Boyle nipped in between defender and keeper to steal the ball and stroke it into the empty net.
JP struck again after the Glens failed to clear their lines at a corner kick. In between times Cameron Marlow looked to have drawn the sides level only for an offside flag to keep the Blasties ahead. H/T Kilbirnie 2 Glens 0
The visitors halved the deficit after a good run down the left ended with Aaron Connolly being tripped on the box and the striker slamming home the resultant spot kick.
Glens hopes of salvaging a point were dented when former Kilbirnie favourite Stevie Miller received his marching orders after a tackle on Chris Malone. F/T Kilbirnie 2 Glens 1
