Glenafton Athletic called up two youth academy players Danny Naismith and Josh Blackwood for the Ayrshire Weekly Press Cup match away at Dalry Thistle yesterday. Both came off the bench to give a good account of themselves.

Team-mate and goalkeeper Ryan Dunsmuir, who has already enjoyed first team experience, also came off the bench and all three helped ensure the Glens kept a clean-sheet.

Next Sunday, the boys will be part of the Glenafton U19s squad that travel to Newlandsfield, Glasgow to face St. Cadoc’s in the Scottish Youth Cup semi-final.
