Glenafton 4 Wishaw 2

Pre-season Friendly

Saturday 4th August , Loch Park, New Cumnock

Gareth Campbell

The game kicked off in brilliant sunshine and Gareth Campbell rattled the post after two minutes before John McStay punished some slack play in the home ranks and fired the visitors in front. Glenafton were level on ten minutes when Danny Mitchell and Bobby Colligan combined to set up Gareth Campbell who guided his header beyond the reach of keeper Sandy Thomson and then took the lead after a Campbell daisy-cutter found the net. Two minutes before the break Glen Mitchell met a Colligan corner to double the Glens lead with a perfectly placed header. Ten minutes after the re-start Gareth Armstrong conjured up some magic in the box with a finale of lobbing the helpless Thomson. As mini-tornadoes swept through Ayrshire the heaven’s opened above Loch Park nevertheless midway through the half Nicky Moore kept his composure to pull one back for the visitors.
