Sammy Conn Charity Match

John Garroch, Sammy Conn, Stevie Kerrigan, Darren Henderson and Alan McGill

John Garroch has organised a Charity Match for Sunday 29th July at Kilwinning Sports Club with a 1.30pm kick off. Entry is free with the opportunity to donate to the charity during the day.

John explains

‘The game will be between players who have played under Sammy Conn and myself at Kilwinning Rangers 21s and Dalry Thistle as well as anyone who has played with or for Sammy at any other club. This is a chance to show your appreciation for all the help Sammy has given via football. He is now being helped by Ayrshire Hospice and we feel we can show our appreciation in this small way. This will be a quality game with every player having played to at least junior level at some point.

Please donate anything you can, every penny counts for a great cause. The game and the day will be well attended. Many thanks to all of the players who have already confirmed their attendance.

Sammy Conn played senior football all of his life and despite suffering from Motor Neurone Disease for the last few years has continued to be an inspiration to everyone who knows him. Every player who has been asked to play in this game, plus many many more, will confirm the importance of having worked with Sammy Conn. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page’.

So please dig deep and donate now here at  JustGiving .
