Glenafton Athletic have placed the following players on the transfer list – Willie Howie (midfield), Kevin McBride (defender) , Richie McKillen (defender), Jim Wilson (forward), Aaron Scoular (midfield) and Tony Mitchell (goalkeeper).

Club captain Willie Howie (left) joined the club from Partick Thistle at the beginning of season 2005/06, signed by Gerry Collins his former boss at Thistle.  In his first season Willie led the club to Ayrshire Sectional League Cup and West of Scotland Cup double. He went on to make 152 starts for the club and scored 9 goals in his six seasons with the club, although he didn’t play at all in season 2009/10 following a serious knee injury on at the end of the previous season. At the beginning of Season 2010/11 Willie, along with John Stewart briefly served as assistant managers to new manager Greg Denham.  Willie was soon back to his best, leading the team on the park in a push for promotion, which just fell short in a 1-0 aggregate play-off loss to Petershill.
