Glens made two changes to the eleven that started against Dalkeith last Saturday. Goalkeeper Jacob Pazikas (unavailable) was replaced with trialist Kevin McAllister and Ross Lindsay made way for Evan Malley.

After a fairly even start Talbot, with a 100% league record, went to town with four first half goal. The home side broke the deadlock on 15 minutes after a determined break down the left before the ball was played inside to Ewan Thomson to casually clip the ball into the far corner of the net from the 18-yard line.  Talbot doubled their lead on 19 mins after a corner kick saw Luke Main win the aerial battle in a busy six-yard box to head home.

On 33 minutes the home side extended their lead after Kyle McAvoy nicked the ball at the left-hand corner of the box before driving into the goalmouth only for the advancing keeper Kevin McAllister and Ollie Rowe to block the ball which then fell kindly for Connor Boyd to roll into the empty net from 6 yards out. The fourth goal arrived on 37 minutes after a couple of aerial battles down the right saw the ball bounce towards the outskirts of the box where Austin Sime held off the challenge of Blair Anderson before drawing the keeper from his line and slotting the ball between his legs and into the net.

Three minutes into the second half and after some slick passing down the left which ended with Scott Schoneville rolling a perfectly weighted ball into the box for the overlapping Luke Gillies to square across the face of goal for Connor Boyd to slot home from six-yards out.

On 53 minutes Glen got on the scoreboard after Chris Erskine from the left curled a corner kick to the near side of the six-yard box to match Lee Duncanson’s run, the defender leaping to sending a glancing header into the far corner of the net.

Ten minutes later Talbot restored their five-goal lead. A corner from the right was fired into a packed goal-mouth where Kyle McAvoy’s header crashed off the underside of the bar before rebounding off the back of the keeper and over the line.

On 70 minutes Connor Boyd secured his hat-trick and completed the scoring after a Glens corner was cleared and within a flash a string of 3 or 4 inch-perfect passes saw the ball end with Boyd on the right-hand side of the box to drill home a low angled shot.
