Glenafton made three changes to the eleven that started against Benburb last Saturday with Michael McMullin, Charlie Maxwell and Liam Caddis making way for Sam McKee, Michael Moffat and Dylan O’Kane.

Shotts Bon Accords currently in 5th position in WOSFL 1st Division only 4 points behind leaders Drumchapel United with a game in hand. Starting for Shotts was former Glenafton defender Chris Meikle.

In very difficult conditions the Shotts took an early lead on 15 minutes after Danny Burns set up Taylor Evans to find the net. Unfortunately 10 minutes later he had to be replaced by P.J. O’Donnell. The home side had a number of chances to increase their lead only to go in at the break a goal ahead.

On 56 minutes Shotts passed up another chance only for a spot-kick to slip past the post. Glens made a change with Liam Caddis replacing Dylan O’Kane and then Charlie Maxwell came on from Michael Moffat.

On 65 minutes Andrew Duffy picked out Paul McGeough to double Shotts lead.

The home side made a double substitution on 73 minutes with Andrew Duffy and Ben Richford making way for Harry Kent and Martin Shiels while soon after on 79 minutes Glens brought on Gary Fraser for Lyall Holding.

On 90 minutes Glens keeper David Markey launched a high ball up the middle and on heavy going Caddis managed to win the ball and lay it off to McKee on the left wing who slogged his way up field to the bye line. From here he gave Meikle the slip before cutting the ball into the box for the inrushing Maxwell and although his shot was blocked, Liam Caddis was on hand to slot the ball into the net from close range. However, it was too little too late for the visitors and to add to their woes Scott McLean earned himself a second yellow card and was sent off before the final whistle.
